The Loop DRAFT v0 · 2026-09-26

Daily pedagogical flow for the White Noise Academy cohort: a ten-hour working day plus lunch, one unbroken cycle a day.

Input in the morning, hands on the bench by mid-morning, code in the afternoon, and the day cannot end without a shipped artifact.

10hours a day + lunch
16weeks of curriculum
8lifecycle stages
1artifact per person per day
6days a week · Sunday off

The day

09:0015 min

Open · stand-up + radar

What shipped yesterday, the one artifact you will ship today, and who is blocked. Radar board updated in front of everyone.

everyone · 1 rotating host
09:1545 min

First Principles · the "why"

Pure math, digital design, electronics, or system architecture. One concept, taught from the ground up: how an ADC turns a voltage into bytes, what a bus is, why a state machine.

trainers · IIT bench mentors · common to all 16
10:002 h 30

The Bench · hard fabrication

Immediate physical application of the morning concept. Multimeter, oscilloscope, schematics, breadboarding, CAD, soldering, 3D printing, PCB layout. ESP32, Arduino, Raspberry Pi in hand.

Lunch

Away from the desk. No screens at the table.

13:301 h

Voice · communication workshop

Speaking, writing, pitching, listening. The skill that turns a build into a story and a story into a customer. Once a week this hour is the health check-in with the doctor and physio.

communication coach · doctor / physio weekly
14:301 h

Vertical Hour · specialization

One hour deep in one of the eight lifecycle stages. Weeks 1 to 8: rotate, one stage per week, so everyone touches all eight with real work. Weeks 9 to 16: locked to the stage the radar and the student chose together.

stage mentor · 2 students per stage once locked
15:303 h

Forward Deployment · your own solution, end to end

The solution you own this cycle, carried through all eight stages by you. Firmware, edge runtime, ONNX, Linux, Python, the small model, the agentic pipeline. AI scaffolds the boilerplate, you write the core state machine, and a named customer is waiting for it.

each founder · AI tools · mentors on call · screen recorded
18:301 h

The Broadcast · the narrative thread

The day cannot end without shipping an artifact: a git commit with docs, a 90-second video clip, a documented schematic, or an audio note explaining today's failure. Hand raw footage to the content team. Articulating the build locks it into memory.

Close · radar + tomorrow

Score today's artifact on the stage it belongs to, write tomorrow's one line, leave. Biometric in at the Open and out at the Close, or the day is not counted. Wednesday is a hard stop at 17:30 for everyone, no exceptions. Sunday is off.

The week

DayWhat is different
MonCycle planning in the Open. Every founder names this cycle's customer and artifact. Health check-in replaces Voice.
TueStandard Loop.
WedStandard Loop until 17:30 hard stop. Nobody works past it. Broadcast is a written note only.
ThuStandard Loop. Content team publishes the week's long-form piece from the footage so far.
FriAfternoon is Demo & Radar Review: every founder demos live, mentors score all eight stages, radar updated for the week. 17:00 is The Live Build: a caller's app built and delivered on air in 30 minutes, front end, back end, domain. Founders rotate as crew.
SatStandard Loop. Sixth working day of the internship week.
SunOFF Fully. No Slack, no commits. The music club is open 10:00 to 13:00, free, voluntary, not work.

The eight stages · Solutions Development Lifecycle

Cyclic. AI in the middle. Every solution ends in hardware, however small, and stage 8 feeds stage 1.

1Discover

The customer, the problem, the live calls. A named person before anything is designed.

2Design

Spec, braindoc, PRD, industrial design. The instrument-style UI: knobs and sliders with a real brain behind them.

3Build · software

App, backend, agentic pipeline, the small model. AI scaffolds, you own the core.

4Build · hardware

Firmware, PCB, 3D print, multi-bus comms, the legacy bridge (LabVIEW, Verilog, serial).

5Verify

Test forge, QA, field test with the customer. No claim without a verified demo.

6Ship

Deploy, domain, observability, on-prem or cloud, the tailnet mesh. The virtual Kubernetes engineer lives here.

7Tell

Video, blog, docs, the betadoc. Public by default.

8Sell & support

Patrons, pre-orders, custom orders, feedback. What we learn here starts the next loop.

The sixteen weeks

WEEKS 1–2
Bootcamp

The toolchain, the pipeline, the bench, the rules. Project zero: the founders build the radar tracker they will be measured on.

  • Every founder ships one tiny end-to-end solution
  • First broadcast published
WEEKS 3–8
Sampling

Rotate through all eight stages in the Vertical Hour. Two small end-to-end solutions per founder, each with a named customer in the college or the town.

  • Radar profile forms from evidence
  • First patrons following live
WEEKS 9–12
Lock-in

Vertical chosen with the radar. Solutions move onto the two product lines: domain small models, and the fab / custom-instrument line.

  • Prototypes in customers' hands
  • Custom design workshops open
WEEKS 13–16
Ship

Pre-order batch, betadocs, public launch, demo day. Confirmation and vertical leads named.

  • Eight vertical leads recruit from the 600
  • Salary doubles on confirmation

Non-negotiables ratified in the induction docket
